Knowsley Council is launching a recruitment campaign to help tackle the shortage of social care workers and to attract more people to work in social care in Knowsley.
The campaign entitled ‘Make a change today. Make a difference every day’ is aimed at boosting the numbers of social workers and social care workers in the borough. It’s calling on newly qualified and experienced social workers who may be considering their next career move to join the council’s children’s and adult’s social worker teams, as well as promoting opportunities for care workers within the council’s own Adult Provider Services. Adult Provider Services provides respite, supported living and day services to adults with the most complex needs in Knowsley.
Those interested in joining the teams are invited to a Social Care Recruitment Event on Saturday 11 March, 10-4pm at the Village Hotel, Whiston, when they can hear about the available job opportunities, the work taking place in Knowsley and talk to colleagues providing services to children & adults.
There will also be interviews available on the day, and the chance to book additional dates the following week. For candidates living in Knowsley, the Knowsley Works team are offering support creating a CV to take along to the event. They can be contacted on 0151 443 5010 (Huyton) or 0151 443 4780 (Kirkby), email email@example.com.
Council teams will also be staging a number of town centre roadshows in Huyton, Halewood, Prescot and Kirkby to raise awareness of the social care career opportunities at Knowsley Council and invite potential employees to come along to the recruitment event.
Cllr Margaret Harvey, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services said: “We hope that those interested in a career in social care will come along to our recruitment event and hear about the fabulous work happening in Knowsley and how they can help us in our commitment to transform the lives of children, young people, adults and families.”
