Safeguarding and Quality Improvement Service

The remit of the Safeguarding and Quality Improvement Service (SQIS), Business unit is to ensure that the services provided by Adult Social Care are of good quality and are meeting their Care Act 2014 requirements; and that that residents with care and support needs receive care and support from providers in the borough that is dignified, compassionate, of the highest standard and promotes their safety and wellbeing. The service aims to develop positive, supportive relationships with providers, working in partnership with them to promote good outcomes for people supported.

Key areas of responsibility for SQIS are:

  • Organisational intelligence- Quality Concerns received about those providing care services.
  • Quality Monitoring of Providers- Using audit tools to measure quality and performance of providers in Knowsley.
  • Internal quality auditsAudits of practice within social work teams, including the MASH team where audits of safeguarding enquiries will be undertaken.
  • Providing Training/Development sessions- Presentations, training and/or development sessions are devised and delivered to providers, social work teams, or other stakeholders who may benefit from these sessions in order to improve practice and services for people who live in Knowsley.
